Media Operator / Studio Generalist - Gold CoastThe Post Lounge

Oxenford, Gold Coast

10th April 2026

--About The Post Lounge--

The Post Lounge Group is an independently owned, full-service post production company. We work with agencies, brands, broadcasters and studios from Australia and around the world, delivering high-end visuals and sound with a focus on craft, collaboration and technical excellence.

We're a tight-knit team with a warm studio culture, plenty of industry energy, and a shared commitment to doing things properly. Our values are Excellence, Respect, Passion, Innovation, Collaboration, and Courage.

--The Role--

We're looking for a Media Operator / Studio Generalist to join our Gold Coast team.

This is a hands-on role that combines core media operations (ingesting, transcoding, QC, mastering and delivery) with dailies processing and broader studio support. You'll be a key part of how the Gold Coast facility runs day to day, both technically and operationally.

This role is based full-time at our Gold Coast studio in Oxenford, with occasional support to our other studios (remotely or in person) as required.

We're after someone with some post production experience under their belt, who's comfortable working independently and can switch between technical media work, client-facing duties and general studio upkeep without missing a beat.

You will be working day-to-day with producers, editors, colourists and online artists on the Gold Coast, with support from senior operators across the group.

--What you'll do--

Media management

- Ingest rushes from production (camera cards, drives, remote transfers)
- Transcode and generate proxies for offline editorial
- Organise and maintain file structures, naming conventions and metadata
- Assist editors and online artists with media relinks and re-conforms
- Prep and consolidate projects for colour, sound and online finishing
- Help manage archives, backups and data wrangling across servers and drives

Dailies

- Process and deliver dailies for film and television productions
- Work with Colorfront On-Set Dailies and related tools to generate review and editorial media
- Apply looks, CDLs and LUTs as required by the production and DOP
- Communicate with on-set and production teams to ensure timely, accurate dailies turnaround

QC, mastering and delivery

- Export and master files for TVC, digital, social and cinema delivery
- Perform QC checks to ensure files meet technical and creative requirements
- Troubleshoot file, codec and format issues
- Manage deliveries via platforms such as Aspera, MediaShuttle, Frame.io, Vimeo and others
- Maintain accurate version control and delivery logs

Studio generalist / front of house

- Be the face of the Gold Coast studio - welcome clients, manage the front of house area and ensure the space is presentable and well-stocked
- Coordinate meeting rooms, client suites and general studio logistics
- Handle ad hoc studio upkeep including spot cleaning, kitchen and common area maintenance
- Support the broader team with whatever needs doing to keep the facility running smoothly

--About you--

You'll have some hands-on experience in post production, broadcast, dailies or a related technical media environment. You might be a couple of years into your career, or coming from an adjacent role where you've already picked up solid foundations.

You'll likely have:

- Working knowledge of file formats, codecs, frame rates, resolution standards and colour fundamentals
- Experience with post production or dailies tools (e.g. Colorfront On-Set Dailies, DaVinci Resolve, Avid, Media Encoder, or similar)
- Strong file organisation habits and a sharp eye for detail
- The ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines without dropping anything
- A calm, clear communication style - comfortable with both creative and technical people, and equally comfortable with clients
- Pride in keeping a workspace tidy, professional and welcoming
- A proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude - no task is beneath you

Bonus points (nice to have, not essential)

- Direct experience with Colorfront On-Set Dailies in a production environment
- Familiarity with on-set workflows, camera metadata and dailies pipelines
- Experience with delivery platforms (Media Shuttle, FileCatalyst, FTP, etc.)
- Exposure to Flame, Resolve, VFX pipelines or colour grading workflows
- Understanding of audio deliverables (mix splits, stems, etc.)
- Any client service, hospitality or front-of-house experience

--What we offer--

- A role in a professional post production studio with real career pathways
- Hands-on experience across media ops, dailies, QC, delivery and broader post workflows
- The opportunity to work on high-end commercial and digital work, feature films and series
- A supportive, collaborative team culture across multiple locations
- Learning and development support via our internal L&D platform
- Regular well-being initiatives that change each quarter
- Industry exposure through our business development and networking sessions
- A social, friendly studio culture that values initiative, care and contribution

--Salary and conditions--

$65,000–$70,000 p.a. + superannuation, based on a standard 40-hour week. Some projects require occasional night shifts and extended hours (up to 50 hours per week), which are remunerated appropriately on a per-project basis.
