We are on the search for Scene Planning Leads to help bring explosive characters, high-energy action and wildly unpredictable adventures to life with a crew pushing creative boundaries every day. Scene planners will break down animatics into individual shots, planning the screen direction, camera angles and movement, and character and prop placement, while maintaining visual continuity.

*Must be Australian citizen or permanent resident*
Start date: Mid-June 2026
Work Location: Sydney and Greater NSW Preferred, Remote AUS considered
Reports to: Supervising Director, Art Director, working in collaboration with Animation Director

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES
• Experience in 2D scene planning for episodic animation
• Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony
• Ability to interpret storyboards into precise spatial setups in 2D space
• Knowledge of animation composition techniques.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high artistic standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Strong organisational skills to prioritise work to meet goals or deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality over all matters and proprietary information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Scene & Shot Breakdowns: Dividing the animatic into individual shots, planning the screen direction, and mapping the 180-degree line to maintain visual continuity.
• Translating the animatic into precise spatial setups in 2D space, dictating camera movements (pans, zooms, trucks), background placement, and character boundaries.
• Timing & Pacing Charts: Notes tracking the frames per second and duration of each shot
• Collaborate with the Background Layout Team to ensure all shots are consistent in style and delivered on time.
• Address feedback from supervisors and make necessary revisions.
• Work within established production timelines and deadlines.
