Video Producer

The Video Content Producer creates high-quality video content across a range of Musica Viva’s programs that engages audiences, highlights our achievements, tells our stories and grows our brand.


ABOUT MUSICA VIVA
Musica Viva (MVA) exists to make Australia a more musical place. We are Australia’s largest presenter of chamber music and a leader in the provision of music education in the classroom. With a national office in Sydney and a presence in every state and territory, we reach approximately 360,000 people directly each year through inspiring performances, education activities and digital music resources. 

REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The position sits within the national marketing team reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager and working closely with the Digital Marketing Coordinator, and campaign managers across the marketing and development/fundraising departments, along with other Musica Viva staff as projects require.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key areas of focus:
  • Plan, shoot and edit original footage as briefed by the relevant project owner, managing the end to end process of video content creation.
  • Creation of digital video content in various formats for integration into marketing and fundraising campaigns across digital channels.
  • Work across the organisation to help devise, produce and publish both tactical and evergreen short form video content that drives ticket sales and donations and engages audiences and stakeholders.
  • Assistance with the creation of social media content, in conjunction with the Digital Marketing Coordinator.
  • Assistance with the creation of website content, in conjunction with the Digital Marketing Manager.
Other responsibilities:
  • Professional-standard storage, naming and archiving of files in line with MVA IT policy.
  • Coordination of and delegation to external content suppliers where required in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Management of maintenance of digital equipment to ensure proper functioning in line with WH&S standards.
  • Involvement in company-wide digital working group .

  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Contribute to regular and ongoing quality improvement and funder-required accreditation activities.
  • Participate in professional and performance development activities and remain up-to-date on current knowledge and skills related to the position.

  • In addition to the duties outlined above, the position holder is also required to perform such other duties as may be directed, provided these are within his/her competency or training from time to time.
COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Abilities:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience recording audio and video material in live and studio environments, including camera and lighting skills.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with DAW software (Logic/Pro Tools), Final Cut Pro X and Adobe Photoshop.
  • A rich portfolio of video work including creative storytelling and brand videos.
  • Understanding of online content distribution, web publishing and HTML, and social media.
  • Understanding of media file formats and CMS.
  • A good working knowledge of websites, electronic communications, multimedia, social media and current video production trends.
  • Attention to detail, resourceful and proactive .
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Driver’s license.

Desirable Knowledge & Skills:
  • Knowledge of and in interest in music and performing arts, ideally fine music (classical, jazz, etc).
  • Skills in motion graphics and animation.
