Junior Digital Designer and Animator

Seeking a Junior Digital Designer to work with our creative team. 

You'll be involved with designing, illustrating, storyboarding, and animating various online content.

Role Purpose
The Junior Digital Designer will work closely alongside senior designers, art directors and creative directors to produce a range of social and digital campaigns. This role will assist the creative team in both small and large creative projects in a fast paced and collaborative environment. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, illustrate, storyboard and animate online ads, social static and video content; 
  • Design and update eDMs, style guides, branding elements, original graphics, icons, illustrations and animation; 
  • Pro-actively contribute to team building initiatives, and contribute to team culture; 
  • Adhere to project deadlines: delivery of project tasks within project schedule expected to be 100% as defined in the project schedule. 
Required Skills:
  • An understanding of artistic fundamentals, including line, form, texture, colour and how these affect users; 
  • Knowledge of typographic fundamentals; 
  • The ability to sketch out ideas in a clear communicative way; 
  • An understanding of common web useability and accessibility issues; 
  • An understanding of brand fundamentals; 
  • Advanced user of desktop publishing applications including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Aftereffects, Adobe Animate. Flash is a bonus, but not essential; 
  • An understanding of basic UX principles. 
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in graphic design and/or industry experience; 
  • 6 – 12 months working as a designer in a web development firm and/or marketing/advertising agency would be ideal but not a must.
