Creative Producer

JOB DESCRIPTION
This is an amazing opportunity to join the National Geographic Australia team on an 11 MONTH CONTRACT. You will be responsible for producing creative content, both on-air and non-TV promotional materials including digital and print to support National Geographic Australia’s marketing campaigns.

This contract role is required to efficiently oversee production resources while ensuring the effective promotion of the National Geographic Australia business.  He/she must be able to conceptualise ideas, write, edit and produce creative materials to reinforce the National Geographic brand, to appeal to customers, increase engagement and ultimately revenue.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative Production:
  • Create and produce innovative content and campaign concepts and materials covering TV, App, Digital, Travel and Licensing with the aim of increasing viewership and engagement. This includes presentation to external partners on creative concepts, both in person and over email.
  • Brainstorm and lead with marketing and external partners to develop strategic creative campaigns
  • Localisation of creative assets for affiliate campaigns (including oversighting cross channel promotional requirements)
  • Participate in HK’s OAP workflow and retain oversight of assets produced by HK for the Australian market
  • Network with regional and global National Geographic creatives (in Asia & DC) bringing new ideas and strategies for the Australian market
  • Research external and competitive promotional strategies utilising knowledge and learning’s to enhance promotions for the National Geographic portfolio
  • Adhere to production timelines to meet campaign deadlines
  • Manage legal for all productions including release forms
  • Oversee all productions and be main key contact for production freelance and outsourcing
  • Produce idents and required graphics ensuring all promos are consistent with the National Geographic requirements
  • Localise voice/graphics as required
  • Directing voiceover sessions and supervising final mixes
  • Ensure budgets are managed, briefs are met, and associated admin in a timely and responsible manner with approval from Marketing Manager
  • Review all creative produced by affiliates and partners using the National Geographic brand with support from Marketing Manager
  • Ensure all local creative is editorially accurate and in accordance with brand guidelines.
IN-HOUSE CAMERA DEPT (shared responsibility with Senior Ad Sales Promo Producer):
  • Manage and maintain camera equipment and schedule resources
  • Provide in house filming service to other departments.
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Must have previous experience presenting creative campaign concepts to internal and external key stakeholders
  • High level of creativity and able to demonstrate strategic thinking, innovation and imagination;
  • Ability to understand Brand values and key messages for both external partners and our National Geographic brand, and navigate solutions, which are both on-brand and add value to both the partner and National Geographic
  • Proven experience managing timelines and budgets
  • Proven experience in managing production shoots, including talent and crew
  • Understand Australian Media legalities and guidelines
  • Possess exceptionally strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong video editing and script writing skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Stakeholder management – ability to build strong relationships with all levels of the business and make accountable risk-based decisions
  • Previous experience working within a global/regional/international company managing multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to deliver to short lead times, under pressure when necessary
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter - enjoys solving problems and initiating solutions
  • Beneficial:  Previous experience working within a global/regional/international Company managing multiple stakeholders.

EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT) AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Tertiary education in Communications or related field is desirable.
