Video Editor, Content & IT Coordinator

Fox Networks Group is looking for a self-motivated and technically savvy, creative Video Editor.

You'll make short-form content and lead Content Coordination and IT Services for the team across the National Geographic portfolio.


While at least 50% of time will be spent on day-to-day video editing requirements, the role is also required to be the contact for sourcing content assets for the business (including globally) and to act as the regional IT Liaison and point person in a self-service culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Video-Editing
  • Responsible for National Geographic’s daily short-form video requirements including producing, sourcing and reversioning content for the web and app, plus social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube (used for affiliates & partners)
  • Cut-downs and highlights from premium programming to be curated on the National Geographic websites
  • Converting and packaging material for the Marketing Department and our Media Partners
  • Providing creative ideas and solutions to maximise digital content for the Nat Geo website.
  • Instagram and social templates creation on existing content 
  • Assist with local short and long form video productions from time to time.
  • Cross Channel Promotion mastering for affiliates
Content Coordination and Process Management
  • Logging Metadata and expiry dates of short form content ensuring contractual obligations and compliance
  • Content Coordination - Uploading & downloading content as follows:
-  TX masters of Locally Acquired Programing  (promos to be produced in Sydney)
-  Any program files for digital and social content (20 per month possibly)
-  Any assets required by Ad Sales, Consumer Products, Travel, Marketing etc.
-  Archiving content produced in Sydney according to Hong Kong protocol
  • Responsible for downloading and uploading content to recipients including:
-  Promos for our Website and Social platforms
-  Promos for Optus website, Optus Sport, Fetch
-  Digital content received by global
-  Consumer Products, Travel website and marketing support, including content creation.

IT Coordination
  • Local point of co-ordination for general IT and technical matters unable to be handled under the self-service ticketing model, including tracking and elevating issues where appropriate.
  • Act as contact point for global and regional IT and Broadcast Tech Ops including liaison with Singapore and HCL outsource IT support.
REQUIREMENTS

Key Attributes

To be the successful candidate, you must:
  • Come with video editing and generally technical proficiency
  • Have social media & digital experience
  • Have a passion for story-telling and creativity
  • Understand how to make compelling content that people want to share 
  • Understand how to engage with audiences in a the digital and social media
  • Be self-motivated and creative
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Thrive in a dynamic / fast paced creative team
  • Have the ability to work on multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
Education (or equivalent) and work experience

You must have:
  • A strong understating of professional media industry standards, formats and software
  • An understanding of basic in-house IT issues such as desktop, printers, video conference technology etc.
  • Expertise in Final Cut Pro 7 and Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Proficiency in Photoshop.
And the following are desirable:
  • Proficiency in Aftereffects
  • Production/Filming experience.
