Who you are

You are a news junkie with expert level organisational skills. We're looking for someone who can thrive in an urgent breaking news scenario, and be the level headed centre of our video newsroom. 

You stay ahead of the curve and understand consumer behaviour in a rapidly changing media world. TV newsroom experience will be highly regarded, as would experience in a traffic role or digital newsroom.

The Video Chief of Staff will direct producers and editors on the network video team to ensure our sites contain the best relevant video to trending articles. 

The role is about identifying video that will drive traffic, and matching supplied content so trending articles have video added as promptly as possible. Additionally, your role is tied to execution of video content strategy in an evolving market, while meeting the day to day requirements of the 24/7 news cycle.

You’ll manage resources to ensure the team meet their KPIs for video content in articles and content streams. You’re responsible for monitoring use of supplied material (wires etc) in line with commercial arrangements and legal responsibilities. 

As our Video Chief of Staff, responsibility rests with you to ensure we meet our SLAs for News DNA’s internal clients.

To succeed in a unique environment like News Corp, along with your video expertise you will need additional qualities to ensure you succeed. You’re a hands on creative with expert knowledge of digital short-form video production, preferably in a newsroom environment.

This role will suit an early riser who likes to get a jump on the news cycle as the working day starts at 6am.
