Director/Editor


We now have an exciting opportunity in our busy Belrose-based organisation  for an experienced Director/Editor.

You will work across multiple disciplines to deliver programs, ensuring they meet clinical and educational content criteria.


The Aged Care Channel (ACC) works with national and international expert practitioners to develop and deliver topical, high quality, evidence-based educational programs that promote and respond to the physical and psychological needs of Australia’s ageing population. 

Firmly established as a leading provider in the research, development and production of programs to support the implementation of best practice care, ACC is an independent membership driven and funded organisation.
 
Our professional video makers, instructional designers and learning support facilitators all have extensive expertise and experience in aged care and television production. Working in close collaboration, they ensure delivery of a suite of high quality programs and resources to ACC members, as part of an annual program schedule. 

We are currently looking for a Director/Editor who can work across multiple disciplines to deliver programs, ensuring they meet clinical and educational content criteria and our mantra of ‘Engage, Inform, Inspire’. This will initially be a 12-month fixed term contract.

The successful applicant will have 10+ years experience and have a proven track record in video production and be able to demonstrate the ability to direct mid-length scripts (15-20 minutes) in a structured and well-thought-out way, be a skilled television/video director with multi-genre capacity and will be equally adept working with actors and non-actors. Applicants with live multicam TV directing/switching experience are highly desired.
 
They will also be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver educational material in a meaningful way and be able to show an imaginative and collaborative approach from concept to completion. Willingness to take constructive guidance and feedback are also a must.

We are looking for someone who possesses senior video editing skills, ideally with strong motion graphics ability, and who is able to collaborate with other members of the production and post-production team to deliver programs on schedule to a high standard. We work with the Adobe Creative Suite, so it’s important that applicants have senior-level experience in Premiere Pro and AfterEffects, and ideally considerable skills in Illustrator and Photoshop.
 
Applicants will also need to demonstrate the capacity to mentor more junior members of the production and post-production team, working work closely with them to develop their skills.
