Lead Designer

In this exciting role, you will conceptualise, design and produce graphics for on-air broadcast, print / publishing, Digital Content for the FX Channel and National Geographic Portfolio.

You'll also manage a team of 2 people.


FOX Networks Group (FNG) is 21st Century FOX’s international multi-media business. We develop, produce and distribute 300+ wholly-and majority-owned entertainment, sports, factual and movie channels in 45 languages across Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa. 

FNG’s core channel brands include FOX, FOX Sports, FOX Life and National Geographic Channel. FNG’s movie channels include FOX Movies and SCM (formerly Star Chinese Movies). Our non-linear brands include FOX+, FOX Play and Nat Geo Play.  

These networks and their related mobile, non-linear and high- definition extensions, reach over 1.825 billion cumulative households worldwide. In addition, FNG owns and operates two production studios and produces thousands of local programming hours for its wholly owned channels and third parties.

  • Responsible for concept development of storyboards, style frames and design graphics ensuring the support of the brands' style guide and integrity
  • Research external and competitive design strategies utilising knowledge and learning’s to enhance the designs for the FX Channel, National Geographic portfolio and Advertising Sales.  Network with regional and global brand designers bringing new ideas and strategies and adapting for the Australian market
  • Contribute to creative ideas and problem solving (with the Creative Director) to develop key briefs such as partnerships and sponsorships
  • Develop and design the brands for National Geographic and FX, updating the graphics packages as required by the global and local style guides and requirements
  • Distribute workflow amongst the 2 x direct reports
  • Ensure all work produced by direct reports (2 x designers) is accurate and of the highest quality before final sign off by the Head of Creative Services
  • Oversees the leadership, motivation and career development of 2 team members
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as required.

  • High level of creativity and able to demonstrate innovation and imagination
  • Proven experience managing timelines 
  • Possess exceptionally strong communication skills (written and verbal) along with a high level of creativity
  • Previous experience working within a global / regional / international Company managing multiple stakeholders is desirable
  • Ability to deliver to short lead times, under pressure when necessary
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Self starter - enjoys solving problems and initiating solutions.
Educations (or equivalent) and experience:
  • Tertiary degree or appropriate qualifications in design
  • Proven track record as a Design within on-air TV / Media industry
  • 4 years' previous experience in print / web design is desirable.
