Role Summary:

We are seeking Australia’s best old school video engineer with significant demonstrated experience in the maintenance and repair of a full range of broadcast VTRs and ancillary equipment.

We can create a flexible and rewarding role for the right candidate. Any options will be considered, including full time or part time, and the salary is fully negotiable in line with your experience. The role is based in Canberra.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Equipment maintenance and repair including broadcast VTRs, technical monitoring systems, video and audio monitoring systems, audio tape recorders and more
  2. Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts. Liaise with international suppliers to ensure secure access to a range of obsolete technology and parts in order to run a preventative maintenance program on all video systems
  3. Equipment diagnostics and referral to third party service agents where required
  4. Provide operational support to other staff and departments as needed
  5. Maintain a clean and safe workshop. Develop and run a fault reporting and job management system for maintenance and repair work in progress
  6. Assist with the selection, purchasing and integration of new equipment and systems
  7. Demonstrated understanding of network and server technologies including video encoding, transcoding,  IP routing and switching technology.
Minimum Skills and Experience:

  1. Minimum 10 years’ experience as Maintenance Engineer or Technician, or similar position with demonstrated experience in the diagnostics and repair of a range of broadcast video and audio recorders
  2. Demonstrated ability in component level troubleshooting,  project conception and implementation and problem solving
  3. Working knowledge of both digital and analogue video and audio systems.
