Telecommunications Engineer

Sydney based (salary neg. on experience)

There is now an exciting opportunity for a Telecommunications Engineer specialized in Outside Broadcast to operate advanced digital television production facilities. 

Racing NSW have a fleet of Outside Broadcast vehicles that provides television coverage of all thoroughbred racing in New South Wales. If you have a can-do attitude and are determined to step-up into a more senior role, we welcome you to apply.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Oversee the technical operation of broadcast facilities and telecommunications systems at designated race meetings, both in Sydney metro and surrounding regions
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures for broadcast operations
  • Ensure broadcast and telecommunication assets are maintained, stored and operated in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge necessary to make this role a success:
  • Experience in the broadcast production industry including in similar roles
  • Qualifications in Telecommunication Engineering or higher is a big plus
  • A working knowledge of all roles required to provide outside broadcast services
  • A proven track record of customer and services management
  • Excellent technical skills working with modern broadcast assets and telecommunications equipment, including Imagine/Harris routers and Sony Cameras
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and most Saturdays as part of a rotating roster, as necessitated by scheduled race meeting dates.
