The Academy
Monash Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) is a multi-purpose centre within the University that manages the University's major performing arts infrastructure as an income generating business across five venues, the Robert Blackwood Hall, Alexander Theatre, George Jenkins Theatre, with the Sound Gallery and Jazz Club coming online in 2019. It programmes an annual season of events called MLIVE which position Monash University as a major contributor to the cultural life of Greater Melbourne and Australia; and provides professional production support for student and staff performances within the Faculty of Arts. The new Ian Potter Centre for Performing Arts heralds a new era of performing arts facilities at the Clayton campus which further enhance Monash’s commitment to supporting growth in the performing arts in Melbourne’s south-east, by providing state of the art technology including active acoustics, to professional productions, students, schools and community groups.

The Opportunity
The Producer primarily but not exclusively manages and delivers the presentation of live contemporary music events, ensuring all aspects of administration and production are met within the approved guidelines, budgets and deadlines. This role offers a wide variety of opportunities to showcase your extensive producing and/or production management experience, as you resolve complex production and artistic issues for MLIVE presentations. Under your creative guidance events will be planned and delivered at the highest quality to meet the expectations of our clients and the University.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the performing arts and their place not only in local communities but also in a national and international context. If you are confident negotiating with high-level artists, ensembles and performing arts organisations we encourage you to apply.
