Head of Development and Production

Based Adelaide, Sydney or Melbourne, this role will be responsible for the implementation of business strategy. 

As a key leader, this role will continue to manage existing JV arrangements and continue to develop fully owned IP across film and TV.


Our client KOJO Entertainment has a excellent opportunity to join them as Head of Development and Production. This role can be based in Adelaide, Sydney or Melbourne. Reporting to the Group Managing Director, the role is responsible for the implementation of KOJO Entertainment’s business strategy.

A core focus of the role is the successful progression of KOJO Entertainment’s film and television slate. As a key leader in the organisation, this role will continue to manage existing JV arrangements and continue to develop fully owned IP across film and television.

You will be responsible for recruiting project appropriate personnel to develop projects and move these towards production. You will oversee the development and production staff across all projects on the slate from script proposals, script development, financing, production and delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with the CEO to deliver on the strategic direction of the Kojo Entertainment business including developing a content business plan
  • Responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Management of the existing features and television slate
  • Assessing script proposal, writing samples, book adaptations
  • Managing and tracking cost efficiency of individual projects
  • Project management and allocation of resources on projects
  • Working with the CFO and CEO on financial forecasting
  • Team management and performance reviews. 

 

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience developing and producing scripted television and feature films in a top tier production company or network
  • Experience working with a range of broadcasters across the development and/or production
  • Experience working with studio executives, agents, distributors and sales agents globally
  • Ability to work with and lead writers, developers, producers, showrunners and artists to develop ideas and scripts
  • Experience in raising finance for film and television projects
  • Understands the international market, co-production and commercial opportunities across media
  • Have international and local networks and extensive knowledge of the Film & TV sector.
