Executive Producer, Scripted

Based Adelaide, Sydney or Melbourne, this role will be responsible for the implementation of business strategy. 

As a key leader, this role will continue to manage existing JV arrangements and continue to develop fully owned IP across film and TV.


KOJO Entertainment is the boutique film and television production arm of creative studio KOJO. Working with major market partners in Australia and overseas, KOJO Entertainment develop and produce ambitious, emotionally powerful content for global audiences.
  
The Executive Producer role will work with the Group Managing Director to deliver the strategic direction of the Kojo Entertainment business, including developing a content business plan to create: Feature film projects that have scale and are tailored to a broad theatrical audience; and Television dramas and comedies that are ground-breaking, bold and worthy of event and binge viewing.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and production of all projects, from script proposals, script development, financing, production and delivery.
  • Work with the Group Managing Director to manage existing JV arrangements and develop new global business partnerships.
  • Identify and leverage new sources of finance.
  • Project manage the allocation of resources on projects, including recruiting and managing teams to develop projects and move these towards production.
  • Working with the CFO and Group Managing Director on financial forecasting and overseeing cost efficiency of individual projects.

Skills and experience:

  • Hands-on experience developing and producing scripted television and feature films in a top tier production company or network
  • Experience working with a range of broadcasters across development and/or production
  • Experience working with studio executives, agents, distributors and sales agents globally
  • Ability to work with and lead writers, developers, producers, showrunners and artists to develop ideas and scripts
  • Experience in raising finance for film and television projects
  • Knowledge of the international market, co-production and commercial opportunities
  • Strong international and local networks and extensive knowledge of the Film & TV sector.
